Dave Shealy sings, plays saxophone and percussion. Shealy’s musical career started in the late- 60’s in Spartanburg, S.C. From 1974-1979 he traveled the East Coast with Fresh/Rize, the 1974 Spartanburg and the 1975 S.C. Battle of the Bands winner. 1979-1987 found Shealy fronting the popular beach music group, Grandstrand. In 1987, he moved to Florida forming The Kingtones, nominated best blues band and best new band at the 1990 Tampa Bay Music Awards. Though the band split in 1992 their website garnered them The Top MP3 Band/Song on Rolling Stone.com in the summer of ’98. During this period he also worked as a session musician and sang bass with The Ruth Eckerd Hall Singers, a small choral group that backed up Andy Williams, Rosemary Clooney and The Canadian Brass. From ’96-’02 he performed with The Willie Lomax Blues Revue playing festivals and clubs throughout Florida. Dave has shared the stage with Delbert McClinton, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Buddy Guy, Rod Piazza, Dr. John, Marshall Tucker, Robert Cray, Derek Trucks, Kenny Neal, Wet Willie, The Chairman of the Board, Dave Mason, Orleans, The Commodores, Dickey Betts, Charlie Daniels, Artimus Pyle, .38 Special and many others.
